Finding the best luxury neighborhood in Reno Nevada is not a simple answer — and that is actually a good thing.
Reno has a genuine range of high-end communities, and each one offers something completely different. Some are private and wooded. Others are more open with views. Some are newer and walkable, while others are established with character and history.

Montreux is one of the most exclusive communities in Reno.
It is gated, heavily wooded, and has a true mountain feel. A lot of buyers say it reminds them of Lake Tahoe, but with the convenience of being in Reno. There is a private golf course, and you can purchase a membership if that lifestyle is important to you.

There are currently 7 active listings in Montreux, ranging from $1,495,000 to $7,450,000, with a median active list price of $4,500,000. Homes here average around 5,172 square feet, and the average price per square foot is $747. In the past 60 days, 5 homes closed with a median sale price of $2,950,000. Average days on market has been around 149 days, which reflects the highly specific buyer pool this neighborhood attracts.

ArrowCreek has a completely different feel.
It sits higher up and offers incredible views of the valley. It is more open and gets a lot of sunlight compared to Montreux. The community has strong amenities, including a clubhouse, gym, pools, walking trails, and a golf course with optional membership.

Rancharrah is one of the newest luxury communities in Reno and offers something unique.

Caughlin Ranch is one of the most established neighborhoods on the west side of Reno.
It offers mature landscaping, walking trails, and beautiful views depending on where you are located. It is also very centrally located, making it easy to get to I-80, downtown Reno, and the airport.

Caughlin Ranch has a broad price range compared to other luxury neighborhoods, making it one of the more accessible options on this list. Newlands is completely different from the other neighborhoods on this list.
This area is known for its historic homes, tree-lined streets, and unique architecture. It is close to Midtown and offers a more walkable, established feel.

Newlands is the most boutique of the markets covered here, with just 6 active listings currently ranging from $840,000 to $1,399,000, and a median active list price around $1,272,500. Homes are smaller by square footage (averaging around 2,703 square feet), which reflects the historic era of construction, and average $451 per square foot. In the last 45 days, 3 homes sold with a median close price of $1,050,000 and an average of $460 per square foot. At an average of 75 days on market, Newlands moves faster than most of the other neighborhoods on this list — driven by a very motivated, specific buyer who wants character and location above all else.
